SOJ-3020: Restorative JusticeThis course will explore the guiding principles of restorative justice and how it is distinguished from retributive and criminal justice models. According to Zehr, Restorative justice is a process to involve, to the extent possible, those who have a stake in a specific offense, and to collectively identify and address harms, needs and obligations in order to heal and put things as right as possible (2002). Students will learn about the benefits and challenges of the restorative justice process by examining local, national and global case studies. Min.
