Post-Master’s Certificate in Trans Affirmative Therapy

Program Overview

The Trans Affirmative Therapy Certificate is offered through the Couple and Family Therapy program and is designed for students who have completed a Clinical Master’s degree or are currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in a clinical mental health related field. This program focuses on developing culturally sensitive therapists and counselors who are more informed and better trained to work with members of the TGNC population.  

Students work on course material both asynchronously through online assignments and synchronously through virtual (Zoom) class meetings. The certificate consists of four 3-credit classes to be completed in four concurrent semesters. The summer courses are held in 8-week sessions; the  fall and spring courses are 15-week sessions.
