Program Overview
The Certificate in Waldorf Elementary Education - Year-Round program starts in the summer and is designed to be completed in 5 consecutive semesters. This option is available to those who want training in the Waldorf approach to education without acquiring the MEd degree.

Plan of Study
In order to earn the certificate, students must earn a minimum of 28 credits, distributed as follows: Theoretical & Philosophical Foundations of Education - 6 semester credits
Curriculum & Instruction - 14 semester credits
Educational and Social Policy - 4 semester credits
Plus required Waldorf Workshops - 0 semester credits
Teaching Internship or Practicum and Professional Seminar - 4 semester credits
Complete one of the following options for 4 semester credits: Public Waldorf School Specialization
If pursuing the Public Waldorf School specialization choose one of the following: ED-6975: Public Waldorf Internship (take 3 semester credits): Twelve weeks of supervised teaching in an approved Waldorf public or charter elementary school in the classroom of an approved Waldorf teacher. OR ED-6935: Public Waldorf Practicum (take 3 semester credits): Twelve weeks of supervised teaching in an approved Waldorf public or charter elementary school. AND ED-6970: Professional Practice Seminar (take 1 semester credit) |
