General Degree Requirements

All Antioch University undergraduates must meet general education requirements in the areas of Liberal Arts (called Domains of Knowledge), Academic Writing, and Mission-core classes. BA in Liberal Studies, Applied Psychology - General Overview

The BA in Liberal Studies, concentration in Applied Psychology curriculum addresses the wide range of sub-disciplines within the psychology field, preparing you for whatever professional direction you choose to take and paying particular attention to diverse communities and practices. 

Students must complete a minimum of 40 units for a Major Area of Concentration, and a  minimum of 20 units for a Minor Area of Concentration. The faculty recommends that at least one half of the units counted toward the concentration be upper division.

Pathway to MA in Clinical Psychology

Those accepted into one of the Pathways will receive a $1,000 Pathway Grant that will be applied toward BA tuition, and a $3,500 Pathway Grant that will be applied upon official entry into their graduate program.

Additional Info

In accordance with American Psychological Association (APA) recommendations, students in the Applied Psychology Concentration are advised to take a broad range of liberal arts courses. Specifically, the APA recommends courses in the arts, humanities, science, philosophy, and quantitative methods in addition to psychology.

Internships


AUSB has established relationships with numerous organizations in the Santa Barbara area. Students have the option of completing up to 6 internship units to fulfill their Community-Based Learning requirement, and more than 6 units if desired. These placements enable students to gain firsthand experience and to connect classroom learning with practical applications in the field.
