Summer Sequence Flexible Program Overview

The MEd in Waldorf Elementary Education (Summer Sequence Flexible Program) is designed for students who are eligible for 7 credits of advanced standing (usually based on completion of the Building Bridges Program). Students begin their Antioch program in the fall, and complete their initial coursework in 4 semesters. There is no residency requirement for either Fall I or Fall II, as Fall I is an independent research project with limited online sessions, and Fall II is fulfilled by the student’s internship or practicum, accompanied by an online professional seminar. The one spring semester is fulfilled by a combination of in-person and online classes, often offered at a site convenient for each cohort. The one summer semester is held in-person with limited online sessions. Once students have completed the required 28 credits of coursework, they register to undertake a 4-credit independent research project that results in either a master’s thesis or a capstone, as outlined in the Master’s Project Handbook. The average time to completion for the master’s project is 3 semesters. Upon completion of the initial 28 credits of coursework, students are awarded a Waldorf teaching certificate en passant.

Northeast Regional Program Overview

MEd in Waldorf Elementary Education: Northeast Regional Program begins with the coursework required to earn a Waldorf teaching certificate. This initial coursework (28-credits) starts in the summer and is designed to be completed in 2 full academic years (6 consecutive semesters). Both Summer I and Summer II sessions are held in-person, with limited online sessions. Both Fall I and Fall II schedules consist of 5 weekend intensives (3 in-person, and 2 online). There is no residency requirement for either Spring I or Spring II, as Spring I is an independent research project with limited online sessions, and Spring II is fulfilled by the student’s internship or practicum, accompanied by an online professional seminar. Once students have completed the required 28 credits of initial coursework, they register to undertake a 4-credit independent research project that results in either a master’s thesis or a capstone, as outlined in the Master’s Project Handbook. The average time to completion for the master’s project is 3 semesters. Upon completion of the initial 28 credits of coursework, students are awarded a Waldorf teaching certificate en passant.

Summer Sequence Regular Program Overview

The MEd in Waldorf Elementary Education (Summer Sequence Regular Program) starts in the summer and is designed to be completed in 3 summer semesters and 2 Spring semesters.
