COUN-6930: Perinatal Mental Health

This course will examine various aspects of perinatal mental health, including mood disorders, effects of mood disorders on relationship systems, and lifespan development tasks of clients. This course will also prepare students to support clients within the healthcare system and to better understand issues of systemic discrimination within healthcare. Students will learn how to conduct counseling with clients during the perinatal period and create culturally responsive treatment plans.
