COUN-7515: Comprehensive ExaminationThe Comprehensive Examination is a tool to assess a student once required coursework from the curriculum, instruction, and research strands have been completed. The student will select three of the five prompts from the CACREP-based doctoral program content areas as developed by the doctoral faculty (counseling, teaching, supervision, research, leadership/advocacy). The three responses should independently represent a scholarly product in the style of a peer-reviewed journal submission. All responses should be relevant to counselor education. Each response should provide a thorough examination of the topic and assert the author’s approach or proposal addressing the topic. Once submitted and reviewed, students are required to successfully complete an oral defense. Students are required to register for this 0 credit course in order to track successful transition to doctoral candidacy. Min.
