COUN-5060: Communication and Counseling SkillsThis course consists of laboratory training in the basics of therapeutic communication and introductory skills for conducting a therapy session. The course includes recorded practice sessions in which students will work on developing skills for use with engaging clients in a helping context. Proficiency in these skills is necessary in order to be ready for internship and future clinical practice. The course is designed to meet in part the COAMFTE standards for clinical training of Marriage and Family therapists. Note: This section is for CMHC students only. Min.
