EDUC-5025: Education and Society Schooling in a Diverse AmericaThis course provides an overview of the philosophical, historic, economic, political, and social foundations of American education. Students explore of a variety of educational issues and examine how schools have responded to different student populations and structural/ societal trends over time. A major goal of this course is to prepare students to make professional decisions grounded in knowledge of historical and contemporary reality and a concern for just practice in classrooms, teaching, and schools.
