HUM-7100: Critiquing the Canon

Exploration of the idea of the Human from the Enlightenment to the Postmodern Age from multiple disciplinary perspectives (history, philosophy, literature, media, and the arts). Focuses on a decolonizing the Western canon of humanistic thought by taking heed of emerging African, Native-American, African-American, and Caribbean, as well as socioeconomic, feminist, queer, and ecological ways of conceptualizing social advancement via the deconstruction of the Western idea of the Human.
