Certificate in Waldorf Education with Elementary Focus - Summer Sequence Flexible Program
Location: AU New England
Credits for Degree: 28 semester credits
Standard Mode of Instruction: Low Residency
Standard time to completion: 20 months
Program Overview
The Certificate in Waldorf Education with Elementary Focus - Summer Sequence Flexible program is designed for students who are eligible for 7 credits of advanced standing (usually based on completion of the Building Bridges Program). Students begin their Antioch program in the fall, and complete their certificate in 4 semesters. There is no residency requirement for either Fall I or Fall II, as Fall I is an independent research project with limited online sessions, and Fall II is fulfilled by the student’s internship or practicum, accompanied by an online professional seminar. The one spring semester is fulfilled by a combination of in-person and online classes, often offered at a site convenient for each cohort. The one summer semester is held in-person with limited online sessions.
This option is available to experienced teachers who would like training in the Waldorf approach to education without acquiring the M.Ed. degree.
