General Degree Requirements

All Antioch University undergraduates must meet general education requirements in the areas of Liberal Arts (called Domains of Knowledge), Academic Writing, and Mission-core classes. Program Overview

The objective of the Liberal Studies major is to allow students to creatively combine courses for a breadth of exposure to liberal studies or to probe more deeply into one or two specific areas within our majors. Students work closely with an academic advisor to develop a specific direction for their degree program. Students completing a major in Liberal Studies choose a defined focus area. Students work with their advisor to develop an individualized learning plan including focus area requirements and electives.

Liberal Studies Concentration Courses (30 credits)

Design a degree plan to meet the minimum 30 credits needed.

Individualized Concentration Courses (30 credits)

Design a degree plan to meet the minimum 30 credits needed (15 credits from a focus area and 15 credits from individualized BA electives).

Literature and Creative Writing Concentration Courses (33 Credits)

11 classes (33 semester credits) from LIT or COM areas.

Environmental Studies & Sustainability Concentration Courses (27 credits)

Any 9 of the 14 courses listed below (unless satisfied by transfer of an equivalent course):
