HUM-1120: Art History: Visual Literacy

In the next ten weeks we will experience, learn about, discuss and generate content and vocabulary about emblematic artworks produced in the West between 1000 BCE and our time. Loosely following a chronological progression, we will experience the artworks and study the changing political, social, and cultural contexts behind Western artistic production. As we advance in our study and thinking about artworks and contexts, we will incorporate readings by artists, thinkers and art historians.
