Program Overview

The Certificate in School Counseling provides training in this specialty area for post master’s level counselors or supplemental training for current graduate students enrolled in Antioch University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology and Therapy programs. The program focuses on preparing students to provide culturally responsive services addressing the academic, social/emotional, and career development needs of K-12 students.

The Certificate in School Counseling is designed to be completed over 5 semesters, with students entering in the fall. Students can expect to commit approximately ten hours per class per week to readings, viewings, assignments, and class preparation. The program concludes with clinical field experience totaling 600 hours.
